Over 30 students from Years 7-11 at Hans Price Academy took part in a music concert in front of a sell-out audience. Included in this performance was a choir from Haywood Village Academy who opened the show with ‘Hold Back the River’ by James Bay.
The performances were taken from a wide style of musical genres that included classic rock, piano and violin duet, solo singers and show songs to name but a few!
Over 250 primary school students from local schools watched and were entertained at an afternoon matinee performance. Monies raised from the performances will go towards the annual college production, which this year will be the musical version of the Adams Family, this will be staged later in the summer.
Carlo Hooper, Teacher of Music and show director said, “Producing a concert like this is about giving the best opportunities for all students. My aim is to raise the profile of Music across the academy and also in our local primaries. In our academy students produce lunchtime performances and I actively encourage students to perform on stage wherever possible.”
