Ryan Fisher a Year 8 student from Hanham Woods Academy has recently qualified for the national Go Karting championship in Stoke.

Ryan qualified for the national championship by coming second in a fiercely fought final. Ryan qualified for the national championships by competing in three heats and winning pole position for the final at his local track in Avonmouth. Ryan fought back from a five second gap between him and the race lead to narrowly miss out on first place at the chequered flag.

This is an amazing achievement as Ryan has only been racing since 2017. Ryan said, “I didn’t think before the competition I could achieve this, I am absolutely amazed and really excited about competing in the national championships.”

Steve Kneller, Principal of Hanham Woods Academy said, “This is an incredible achievement for Ryan, we would like to congratulate him and wish him good luck for the national championships.”
