Deputy Head of IT
From where I began until now, I am proud of my achievements and grateful of the opportunities provided within the CLF.
I moved to the UK from South Africa at the age of 9. After two years at Whitehall Primary I joined City Academy Bristol then known as “St. George Community School”. I enjoyed my school years, excelling in IT and after completing my A-levels with the school received a university bursary in recognition of my results.
This meant I purchased myself a laptop and went to study Computer Science at the University of East Anglia. The course was challenging but reaffirmed my strong passion for IT. On graduating, I then returned to Bristol and found myself a role at P3 Medical providing IT support for the business. I learnt a lot there but after 3 years was ready for a new challenge. I applied for a role back where it all began at City Academy Bristol!
I was successful in my application to be City Academy’s IT Network Manager. In fact my A-level IT teacher was part of the interview panel! This role meant overhauling the IT infrastructure within the school and gained great momentum as the Academy joined the CLF.
Once City Academy’s IT networks were in a strong position I applied for the role of Service Engineer within the CLF and additionally the role of Deputy Head of IT. I now provide support to multiple schools within the CLF with a significant focus on the primaries, trying to develop and improve our IT Services.
