The Cabot Learning Federation (CLF), one of the most established and mature multi-academy trusts in the South West, is extremely pleased to announce that Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College an 11-16 mainstream Single Academy Trust in Weston super Mare will be joining the CLF.

This decision comes at the end of a process in which the governing body of the school, conducted a thorough process of identifying a potential trust that it would like to join. At the end of this process all parties agreed that the school and the federation are a good fit for each other. The Regional Schools Commissioner for the South West has approved the transfer and so the school will join the Federation on the 1st of July changing its name to Broadoak Academy.

Broadoak Academy will join the CLF’s North Somerset cluster of schools which include Hans Price Academy, Herons Moor Academy and Haywood Village Academy.

Headteacher of Broadoak, Kathleen McGillycuddy said, “We are delighted to have made the choice to join with the Cabot Learning Federation – the opportunities for our young people and our whole community now and going forward is enormous. It is another significant step in Broadoak’s journey towards excellence”

Steve Taylor said, “When I met the academy governors, they were extremely positive about their choice to pursue a relationship with us; they have spent the past two years investing in an in-depth and rigorous process of research and investigation and feel that their values are a good fit for our HEART Core Purpose and Mission. I look forward to welcoming Broadoak to our family of schools.”
